These days has been extremely exhausting for me.Were doing lot's of moving from Woodlands to Ang Mo Kio.For months, i had been travelling on a more than an hour journey from both work and school, staying at the Woodlands area. Not that it was a BIG deal. But its really really traumatising to even think about having to try to squeeze into the MRT overloaded with a heaving mass of humanity, 2 times a day.Now its so much lighter on the length of my journey being nearer to the city area.On Saturday,We lugged all my barang- barangs ('stuffs' in Eng) from Woodlands and drove to Ang Mo Kio.We didn't do much unpacking except for some basic arranging of the furnitures.I thought the new place was really fabulous.I love the room. It faces a beautiful large green field. And the other best thing is sharing the room with Sis.Its gonna be so much fun!The only bad thing is that the rooms a tad bit too small to contain all of our barangs! The landduke and landduchess are really fantastic people, and their tastes in house decors are absolutely amazing! Unlike the previous place i stayed, the furnishing was thoroughly boring and bland. And the plus thing is that its a MAISONETTE! Can you guys imagine how cool is that?HahaWhen i finished tidying my room i'll be sure to post up the picts kk!So after that we got back JB, we were greeted with some ridiculous road blocks, where we ended up doing more turns and taking more roads than necessary.Tada. Meaning, the new JB custom are about to be up and kicking. But why can't i feel the excitement??Thought our irritations could be reduced with the excitement of winding in through the newly- built Malaysian custom, but it was pretty disappointing.People have you seen the inside of the new custom??It was not up to expectations, or rather, not up to mine.It felt strangely homely, rather than grand and mighty- which is what is to be expected. The inner decor was kinda poor.I wonder who came up with the idea of putting LEAVES on the wall.Duh.Okay.. enough of complaints.
Rounding up..
And so i spent the first night at the new place yesterday.
Ain't sure whether is it that the bed was too comfortable, or that i were just totally exhausted from all the unpacking i had to do.
Fell asleep the moment my head touches the pillow.
But gotta get up early this morning.
So i'm still drowsy from the lack of sleep!
Anyway...
OMG. CHRISTMAS' COMING! I can't wait!!! ;););)

Two long days!

Had very long two days!
Mother flew to Taiwan yesterday and felt really bad not being able to drive her to Changi Airport myself.
Told Mother i had it all prepared already,
i did lot's of homework searching the Yellow Pages and Street Directories on the exact routes to take to drive there.
But still failed to persuade Mother to let me take the wheels back from the Changi Airport.
To spare her the misery, i relented reluctantly and agreed to her taking the My-Sg taxi in.
Felt really sad sending Mother off,
Though she's only going for 3 days!
Missed her badly even though its only the 2nd day today.
Gave her a call just now and felt happy Mother sound great!
Said she has already gotten TWO big bags of fab Taiwan foodies already!
Okay. What she's doing there?
well.. For Rene Liu's concert!
i had to admit she's a real good singer who can't seem to lost her touch nor her youth.
Very versatile and down-to-earth!
True!
She would religiously interact with her fellow fans through blogging!
Visit here for her blog! PS its in chinese....
In ths era, which international artiste would be humble enough to do so?
Most have their 'managers' to do so for them in their places,
pretending to be them!
Anyway, back to me....
Went Cotton On again with dear Grace again before class!
Man! We were even almost late for class!
I got another 2 cotton long tees and another cute cotton dress!
I'm sooOO happy!
Sorry couldn't post up any pictures of them!
Mother borrowed mine for her Taiwan trip you see..!
Speaking of Mother again...........
I miss her BUCKETS!
Due to the demanding subjects, i couldn't afford to miss any of the classes...
Makan angin? No...!
Sigh
Holidays... Where art thou???

Poor blog.
Christmas' around the corner but hadn't manage to get a new skin for her.
Well, at least i got a new chatterbox for her.
But can you guys even see it???
*Sigh*
I really really need to learn more new blogging tricks.

why is Genius Einstein Genius??

MR EINSTEIN!!
I'm not talking about Mr Physics' dog name Einstein here (below), but the real one!
pictures courtesy from Flickr.com.
I came across this really interesting article about Eistein, or more accurately, Einstein's brain, and thought i should share this amazing article!
It depicts the journey on the story of Einstein brain;
how it had been believed to be removed and kept without permission by Thomas Harvey,
how almost none of the scientists at that time profess interest to study it,
how it travelled with Harvey DECADES,
as well as interests of academicians who raised so much controversial issues its enough to have one reading to total blindness, and nodding in agreement and at the same time shooking their head in denial.
See this excerpt from the article, a comment made on Diamond's research paper below:
"In light of these faults, only one conclusion emerges as incontestable: that without Einstein's name on it, Diamond's paper would have gone nowhere. Not that any paper that gives marquee status to a genius will automatically generate headlines."
I tried searching for the meaning of "Economo Method" used to preserve Einstein bite-sized pieces, as stated in the article, but to no avail.
PS Anybody who knows, tell me okay. I'm oh-so interested WHAT is that.
Ultimately after reading this article, i finally conclude that
(though it may possibly be tortoise cr*p for you, but what the h*ll. Conclusion is SUBJECTIVE okay.);
that Einstein possibly did not have 15% bigger brains as acclaimed for his horribly fantastic mathematical and spatial ability,
nor more NEURONS than I AM.
Though so, i found more sense in believing that with the lacked of Sylvian fissure (as stated in this Wikipedia article ) in that legendary brain which hence allowing more effective transmission of brain signals in his brain.
And though i'm not sure if Einstein's brain is 5 times heavier or bigger one thing for sure,
he's utterly brilliant and a genius.
Read this article here as well for the latest discovery on HOW genius he can get.
All in all, poor Einstein for having his brain cut into 200 over pieces, and
poor Harvey, who has been so tied down by Einstein brain pieces for decades.

Gossip Girl
Thursday, November 20, 2008
I didn't exactly watch this serial drama honestly..But from the reviews and synopsis i can safely guess the genre to be that very similar to Taiwanese "superstar dramas", where everything is oh-so-glamourous and so surreal. The difference is that, being that of a Western one, it'll means having much more "liberal scenes" of course.More smooching and more "bodily contact" or so.Though i didn't, i know the characters pretty well.Personally i found Leighton Meester (starring as Blair) to be much more prettier.I really can't figure out what's the hooha over Blake Lively. Really.Leighton Meester seems to look perfect from evey angle!See the photos i found below!

(From left; Blake Lively, Ed Westwick,Leighton Meester and Chace Crawford)
Yeap. I know. Ed Westwick looked prettysqueezy in here. LOLPersonally. I dont care as long a i can seeChace Crawford well. LOL
Blair and Chuck (below).
Utterly mesmerizing..

Above:
I think Leighton Meester pulled off bright yellow clothings very well!
It doesn't seem too much at all!
LOvely!
Me favourite picts of her!
*double thumbs up!*
Above: Some picts of Leighton's fashion

Again! Amazing pictures of her in that off- shoulder silver dress! (Above left) Fabulous upclose pict of her!I just love her smile!

Leighton Meester as the cover girl... (left/ right)Some other fantastic picture of her! (Below)

So BLESSED now!!
Wednesday, November 12, 2008
Thanks sOOooo much for all your concern pals..
Feeling very much better and VERY VERY BLESSED..
After not having any decent meals for more than 48 hours since Sunday morning,
i can finally start eating well and ALOT now.
Visited the Dr Ong on Monday after work and got a big fat medical bill of 51 bucks
and was officially announced that i was suffering from F.O.O.D P.O.I.S.O.N.I.N.G.
For my whole life, this was my first time.
It was REALly terrible.
Plus Doc was really toooOO kind.
I was prescribed near up to TEN kinds of medicines that i almost lost count of what i took.
Colourful indeed.
Various sizes, all kinds of shapes, and many colours!
Mother looked at them with utmost displeasure,
only holding the BIG, orange Antibiotics in high regard.
Chirped Mother, "The antibiotics are the most important! Only they can fight the viruses!"
Sounding exactly like what a seasonal mother who has a weak daughter since birth would say.
Given a medical leave yesterday
and i was determined to get well so i can start eating again.
Yeah. i keep emphasising on FOOD and EATING.
Unable to touch something i love for 2 WHOLE days is really unbearable..
So all i did yesterday was,
sleep, have my meals and take my medicines.
i repeated the same thing for 3 times yesterday.
But i guess 51 bucks was worthed it in exchange for my health.
I was really much, MUCH better after taking Doc's medicine.
Though it would leave me feeling all wobbly and weak taking it.....
To Nattie..
don't worry.. i'll do just that... i'll drink up a gallon today! LOL
To Naz...
Thanks for the concern pal.. i really appreciate it ;)...
To Ikhwan...
Chicken soup?? Nah.. if i intend to cook you, i must choose it to be according to MY taste right?
So its TOM YAM!!
since its ME who'll be enjoying it.... hehe....
and don't worry...
I will definitely not allow you to "LOSE" me..
i haven't finish settling so much scores with you yet!! LOL
To Qianru..
Thanks sooOOO much for your concern!! really had a fun time with you though was feeling terrible! haha....
THanks for being there for me....! love ya!!

"CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS"
Tuesday, October 28, 2008
Had a rather eventful day today.Had my mood going up and down, sometimes going left and right as well. Not necessarily in that order though. Haha. That i'm having a slight headache now.Today Mdm Missy stomp into The Cube so particularly early that i was so startled.I heaved a big sigh of relief.Thank god i wasn't the No-One-Will-Know-that-I'm-Late type.Or i think i'll be eating my own shoes. It started with Mdm Missy throwing me a bunch of docs to zap, type and print.Mind you i'm fast. But to do all that in 30 MINUTES, yeah, some challenge.Touchy, with all that flame, i'll be burnt if i hit the wrong nerve.Almost did i get burnt this morning.Thank God managed to complete as demanded. And as quickly as she had entered, I haven't a second breath of air before she's out again.Pretty brain- exhausted todayand very evident.Did some shopping at the nearest mart and lugged two big bags of groceries home.I guessed i was truly exhausted.Became the joke of two tweens when i climb up the wrong stairs that lead to a dead end."CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS".The huge board screamed at me.Apparently i was not using my eyes.Double checked and found it staring at my feet the whole time.Had to climb the whole way down the stairs again for the alternative.I tried acting that i am a fairy who fell from the sky.Not very convincing though.Yawn...Labels: haphazards, My Complicated Simple Life

I D.A.R.E you to take this test
Tuesday, October 14, 2008

i've got some really simple but interesting test of human nature for everyone.
I have only two terribly easy instructions, ie,
1)Read the situational excerpt below (italized).2)Take note of what is the first thing that came into your mind.Be honest about it (as the saying goes, lie to all except one ownself).Well, really simple isn't it?
A father and a son are driving down the road. The car collides with a tree and the father is killed.
The boy is rushed to the hospital where he is prepared for emergency surgery.
On entering the surgery suite, the surgeon says,
"I can't operate on this boy. He's my son."
What was the
first thing that came into your mind?
"How is it possible for the boy to be the surgeon's son? Didn't it say that the father was killed??"My question back to you is,
- Why is it not possible for the surgeon to be a female, to be the boy's mother?
- Its is also possible that the 'father' referred to in the passage was someone else's father and the son being someone else's son. It was not mentioned that they are the father and son of one another.
But well, you have reacted what most of everyone else's would have reacted as well;
i did too..
what we have displayed are
cognitive biasness, as part of our nature, where we tend to make errors based on cognitive factors.
Cognition is the way we used and apply our common knowledge logical, explaining why and how things happen around us.
Alexia quotes for The Day;Each time we are faced with any complex problems, just remind ourselves that there's always more than one way to look at each time; and you'll never know when you might just discover yourself having overlooking certain precious treasures in your life...Labels: haphazards

Uh-umm.. Am i in Singapore?
Tuesday, August 19, 2008
I went to this place in Sg called the PSB Corp Science Park Building last week to settle some of my work permit issues and i can't believe that i'm actually in Singapore!
I know i'm being a little extremist here..
i thought i should comment a little..
As its where the expats are most likely to come.. the place could have been better done up.
The building was already pretty old in its decor and felt sort of shabby and seemed unattended for quite some time..
I wanted to snap a picture of its seemingly-century old lift but was unable to do so.
I've seen the same kind of lift buttons when i was in pre-sch and in living in my old condo in Msia..
I can't forget those hard- to- pressed, yellowed- once- white lift buttons..
Since, they've upgraded to slightly better lifts.
But they are back. In Singapore.
The both time i was in the lift, there was somebody- first a brow- furrowed old lady cleaner and second a pinkish China man.
It would be weird at me snapping at something that's so norm.
So no snaps of the antique lift.
Yes. The haunty- looking bathroom. I was all alone inside. Thought i should snap a pict.
Nope. I DID NOT hope to catch anything else. (above pict)
Next, the lobby. Very deserted and cold. Pretty old cushion seats and it makes me think of the re- broadcasted 90's serial dramas on Sg Mediacorp Channel 8. (see picts above and below..)
Of course, there was also nicer picts that can be taken..
The exterior of the building. Very posh, hi- tech and science lab-by. (above)
The best part of the building.. The outdoor huts! It was quite good. Pretty nice and calming.(see above and below picts)
