"CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS"
Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Had a rather eventful day today.
Had my mood going up and down, sometimes going left and right as well.
Not necessarily in that order though. Haha.
That i'm having a slight headache now.

Today Mdm Missy stomp into The Cube so particularly early that i was so startled.
I heaved a big sigh of relief.
Thank god i wasn't the No-One-Will-Know-that-I'm-Late type.
Or i think i'll be eating my own shoes.

It started with Mdm Missy throwing me a bunch of docs to zap, type and print.
Mind you i'm fast.
But to do all that in 30 MINUTES, yeah, some challenge.
Touchy, with all that flame, i'll be burnt if i hit the wrong nerve.

Almost did i get burnt this morning.
Thank God managed to complete as demanded.
And as quickly as she had entered,
I haven't a second breath of air before she's out again.

Pretty brain- exhausted today
and very evident.
Did some shopping at the nearest mart and lugged two big bags of groceries home.
I guessed i was truly exhausted.

Became the joke of two tweens when i climb up the wrong stairs that lead to a dead end.
"CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS".
The huge board screamed at me.
Apparently i was not using my eyes.
Double checked and found it staring at my feet the whole time.
Had to climb the whole way down the stairs again for the alternative.
I tried acting that i am a fairy who fell from the sky.
Not very convincing though.

Yawn...

the Big things in LiTTLE things..
Thursday, October 23, 2008

Many a times, we like to tell ourselves that life is actually very simple,
that we are only complicating things.
At times, we would convince ourselves that what we ask for in our lifes are just some simple stuffs,
to take things in our strides and to take things easy.
This way, we'll feel better about ourselves, as the easy things come as easily as its name suggests, into our lives.

However at other times, we do secretly harbour thoughts for greater success, for greater fulfillments in life.
Some of them so mighty that if spoken causes silent mockery.
Some of them attainable but doubts about turning them into reality exist, with so many great hurdles to overcome and barriers to break.
Many a times the darker side of me would ask myself,
Can i do it?

Especially at the lowest time of your life,
the darker side of us grows in power.
But thankfully, the optimistic side of me is always eventually fueled to rise in dominance.
When i'm faced with difficulties, i will it to turn it into pressure, pressure for me to strive for greater heights.
I would ask myself.
What's so big deal about reality?
What's such a deal about mockery?
Its even worse to have nothing to worry about realising it.
Of course, most importantly, to do it through actions.
They may not be great things, but are very good enough for me..

I have never forgotten what my Geographer teacher had once told us,
Pressure is what turns coal into diamonds.
I have never once doubted that.
And i suspect that i never will.

'Hero' by Mariah Carey
Tuesday, October 21, 2008

"There's a hero
if you look inside your heart.
You don't have to be afraid of what you are.
There's an answer
if you reach into your soul
and the sorrow that you know will melt away.
And then a hero comes along
with the strength to carry on
and you cast your fears aside and you know you can survive.
So, when you feel like hope is gone
look inside you and be strong
and you'll finally see the truth
that a hero lies in you.
It's a long road
when you face the world alone.
No one reaches out a hand for you to hold.
You can find love if you search within yourself
and the emptiness you felt will disappear
And then a hero comes along
with the strength to carry on
and you cast your fears aside
and you know you can survive.
So, when you feel like hope is gone
look inside you and be strong
and you'll finally see the truth that a hero lies in you.
The Lord knows
dreams are hard to follow,
But don't let anyone tear them away.
Just hold on, there will be a tomorrow.
And in time you'll find the way.
And then a hero comes along
with the strength to carry on
and you cast your fears aside
and you know you can survive.
So, when you feel like hope is gone
look inside you and be strong
and you'll finally see the truth that a hero lies in you.
That a hero lies in you."
The song that tides me over when i'm feeilng down.. and out.

Got such a shock of my life today
that the tuna sandwich i was munching on my way to the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) Station,
almost fell out of my gaping mouth.

Crossing my path in the front from the 9 0'clock direction was The Guy.
He was wearing a super SHORT shorts of such a flimsy material i had thought it was a boxer.
Nah. Even a boxer aren't that SHORT.
He was obviously an ultra-metrosexual.
Had a cool bag slung over his shoulder, hair cleverly styled, trying to play everything sporty-gym cool.
Yeah cool, except the shorts.
Worst still he matched the shorts with a black singlet.
Not that he had hairy underarms or something; he had a pretty lean bod.
But the overall effect was disastrous to me.
It was akin to seeing a girl strutting around in her undergarments.

Please guys, only girls CAN flaunt their leggies no matter how thick or thin, toned or untoned.
But NOT you no matter how toned it is!

PS Sorry for the harsh language. Can't be helped.
Disclaimer: I am not prejudiced against Metrosexuals. I have a a great deal of fabulous real cool Metrosexual buddies myself.

Imagine having to look at the sulky face so black and irritating high-pitched voice which keeps blabbering with an incomprehensible accent- everyday.

Oh well. ALMOST everyday though.

Alright.

The accent is incomprehensible, but not the words itself.

Otherwise i might have gone mad.

Puh-leeze.

Nobody owes you. You shouldn't go around announcing and displaying whatever displeasures that you might have.

You are startling people with all that abrupt discontentments and sneaky things you so freely show and do.

The real side of you is beginning to show and its totally unattractive and almost make you fugly.

Sometimes apology can never cleanly erase off words spoken and heard.

I honestly can't help but get worried for whoever your future spouse might be.

Oh G.O.D.

I D.A.R.E you to take this test
Tuesday, October 14, 2008

i've got some really simple but interesting test of human nature for everyone.

I have only two terribly easy instructions, ie,
1)Read the situational excerpt below (italized).
2)Take note of what is the first thing that came into your mind.
Be honest about it (as the saying goes, lie to all except one ownself).
Well, really simple isn't it?

A father and a son are driving down the road. The car collides with a tree and the father is killed.
The boy is rushed to the hospital where he is prepared for emergency surgery.
On entering the surgery suite, the surgeon says,
"I can't operate on this boy. He's my son."

What was the first thing that came into your mind?
"How is it possible for the boy to be the surgeon's son? Didn't it say that the father was killed??"

My question back to you is,

But well, you have reacted what most of everyone else's would have reacted as well;
i did too..
what we have displayed are cognitive biasness, as part of our nature, where we tend to make errors based on cognitive factors.
Cognition is the way we used and apply our common knowledge logical, explaining why and how things happen around us.

Alexia quotes for The Day;
Each time we are faced with any complex problems, just remind ourselves that there's always more than one way to look at each time; and you'll never know when you might just discover yourself having overlooking certain precious treasures in your life...

Happy Birthday, Mother!
Thursday, October 09, 2008

This chinese word read as "Fuo", means Buddha in English.
while this is a word no one can live without, "Jia", chinese for "home" or "family".

Today's Mother's birthday and i am dedicating this to her.

To us they are two very important things and aspects in our lives.
No matter how much bitter and petty arguments we share, the bitterness will never last, nor remembered.
Forgiving is always the immediate effect after any disappointments that may have been experienced.

Happiness enjoyed among us is always the purest and most sincere.
Nothing beats when we all share good jokes or even cold jokes!
Nothing else mattered when we all laughed together.

That's the privileges a family can give you.
You can never get it anywhere else, and long decided to grow up,
i have come to good terms with the phrase,
Happy Family, Happy Me.

PS: But still it doesn't mean i agree that marriages is always a good thing..
For this, i've yet to figure out, for this is an entirely different issue from having a family with
parents or mischievious brothers or sisters, with that of another partner!

Mother,
Stay healthy and happy always,
you can always count on me to be there for you always for definite!
